The NHL is undergoing significant changes to its broadcasting landscape as teams transition toward streaming services. Initial reports indicated that the Dallas Stars might move their broadcasts to Amazon Prime Video as part of a broader league strategy to maximize rights ahead of new television contracts in 2028-29. This transition has since been formalized through a multiyear agreement where Amazon Prime Video secured exclusive local streaming rights for six NHL teams: the Anaheim Ducks, Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues.
