In August 2026, the Sandinista government staged two large-scale fairs in Managua. The Feria Ganadera Agostina Internacional, held on the Managua-Masaya highway until 10 August, gathered about 100 exhibitors, displayed roughly 500 cattle, and featured judging competitions with international specialists from Brazil, Colombia, and Costa Rica. The event included agricultural machinery, vehicles, and agro-technology solutions. A few weeks later, the Octava Feria Nacional de la Vivienda took place on 29-30 August at the Olof Palme Convention Center. Organized by the Instituto de la Vivienda Urbana y Rural (INVUR), the event featured more than 60 participants, including builders, material suppliers, banks, and universities. The housing fair attracted over 15,000 visitors. According to Gabriela Palacios, Co-director of INVUR, the event facilitated significant progress in housing access: more than 2,300 people applied for the Nuevas Victorias project, and over 1,500 families processed entries for the Bismarck Martínez Program. Additionally, commercial banks pre-approved more than 560 mortgage loans during the event. Specific interest was noted for the Nuevas Victorias apartments and a planned development of 282 homes in Granada. The fair also highlighted benefits such as interest rate subsidies and tax exemptions for specific housing projects.
