Nico Schiappacasse contract dispute with Amazonas FC

Uruguayan striker Nico Schiappacasse terminated his contract with the Brazilian club Amazonas FC due to unpaid wages. The player, who had been a top scorer in the Série C competition, cited the club’s failure to meet financial obligations, including outstanding salaries, image rights, and housing allowances, as the reason for his rescission.

Following the official recording of the contract termination in the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) Daily Bulletin, Schiappacasse has cleared the way to join Paysandu. Having already signed a pre-contract with Paysandu, the striker is expected to join their squad once documentation is finalized with the CBF.

As of September 2026, Schiappacasse has been officially registered with Paysandu via the CBF daily bulletin. However, the 27-year-old will miss the upcoming Série C match against Ferroviária. The club’s technical staff has decided to preserve the player due to his physical condition and travel logistics. He is expected to be available for the match against Inter de Limeira on September 20.
