As Nigeria enters the campaign season for the January 2027 elections, President Bola Tinubu faces significant political pressure due to economic reforms. While government officials, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Minister of Information Mohammed Idris, expressed support for the pact to maintain national unity, observers note the agreement does not provide an immediate solution to deep-seated security challenges involving groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP. Building on these interfaith efforts, the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) and the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO) signed a peace accord on September 4, 2026.
