The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nigeria has initiated several organizational and strategic efforts to prepare for future elections. The party first launched a nationwide grassroots mobilization drive focused on strengthening female leadership and building functional political structures across states and communities. Following these internal organizational efforts, the SDP unveiled its 2027–2031 policy blueprint, titled ‘Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity: Governance & Accelerated Development – Blueprint of a New Nigeria’. Presented by presidential candidate Prince Adewole ~~Adebayo,~~ Adebayo in Abuja, the roadmap focuses on three pillars: security, productivity, and prosperity. The ~~plan includes specific proposals~~ security agenda aims to combat terrorism, kidnapping, and ~~unemployment, alongside~~ illegal mining by dismantling the economic ~~targets such as increasing~~ networks that sustain criminality. To address economic and energy needs, the plan includes specific proposals to increase electricity capacity to 75,000 megawatts and install between 11 and 15 kilowatts of solar power on every Nigerian roof within 11 months of taking office. To stabilize the downstream sector and fuel prices, Adebayo proposed establishing ~~multiple~~ four major public refineries and 36 modular refineries, targeting a petrol price of approximately 200 naira per litre. National Chairman Professor Sadiq Gombe emphasized that the plan is designed to ~~stabilize fuel prices.~~ drive structural change, with Adebayo asserting that a four-year term is sufficient for a determined administration to achieve these goals.
