Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima commenced a two-week leave of absence on 6 August 2026, marking his first official break since assuming office in May 2023. The leave, approved by President Bola Tinubu, is was intended for study, ‘study, reflection, and strategic preparation for intellectual renewal’ to support the administration’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.
