Nikola Milutinov news injury and passport speculation

Nikola Milutinov, the Serbian center for Olympiacos, was initially the subject of medical concern following an injury during a match between Serbia and Italy. After an opposing player fell on his left leg, Milutinov had to be assisted off the court, though he later returned to play, suggesting the injury was not severe. Subsequently, Milutinov addressed media speculation regarding his potential acquisition of a Greek passport. In an interview with NOVA, he denied that Greek basketball officials or authorities had approached him about the matter, stating he remains focused on his professional obligations while noting he would consider the issue if it were officially proposed. However, Milutinov’s health has since become a more significant concern. Coach Georgios Bartzokas confirmed that the player is suffering from tendinitis, an injury originally sustained on August 31 while playing for the Serbian national team. Although Milutinov appeared briefly in the EuroLeague opening round against Baskonia, Olympiacos has decided he will miss upcoming games against Zalgiris and Virtus to undergo therapy and strengthening exercises. To manage the roster gap, the club has signed American center Bryant Dunston to a one-year contract.
