Nissan has introduced updates to its Leaf lineup, beginning with the unveiling of the third-generation Leaf Nismo. Designed as an ‘intelligent sport crossover’, this model features specialized hardware including NISMO-specific springs, stabilizer bars, and bushings, alongside aerodynamic enhancements like a boat-tail shaped diffuser and an extended ducktail spoiler. The interior includes Recaro sport seats and four driving modes, with the Sport mode rebranded as ‘Nismo mode’. Following this, Nissan announced the broader third-generation Leaf lineup, which transitions from a hatchback to a Coupe-style Crossover SUV. The new series offers two battery capacities: a 55kWh version with a range of up to 521km and a 78kWh version providing a WLTC range of up to 702km. These models utilize a 3-in-1 electric powertrain and ProPILOT advanced driving assistance. As of September 2026, early units of the redesigned 2026 Nissan Leaf have arrived at dealerships in Spain. This updated version utilizes a new platform and different battery chemistry, featuring a 75 kWh battery, a drag coefficient of 0.25, and advanced interior technology such as dual screens and an electric panoramic roof. Meanwhile, the legacy of the model continues in the used market, with older iterations like the 2018 2.0 Limited Edition appearing for sale in Italy.
