Nissan has unveiled the Z Kaze concept, a one-off prototype developed by Nissan North America’s design and product planning teams. The vehicle is intended to pay homage to 1990s Japanese domestic market (JDM) tuning culture by blending modern performance with retro design elements. Key features of the concept include a T-top removable roof structure, a “Pacific Teal” paint finish, and a custom carbon-fiber aerodynamic kit featuring a vented hood and flared fenders. The vehicle also utilizes restored 18-inch NISMO LMGT2 multi-piece forged wheels. Mechanically, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine has been upgraded with performance components from GReddy, Supreme SP, and Airinx. The interior is equipped with white leather sport seats and a Bose Personal Plus headrest speaker system. Ponz Pandikuthira, senior vice president and chief product and planning officer at Nissan Americas, stated that the project “combines engineering excellence with a celebration of the brand’s heritage.” The concept was showcased at the ZCON event enthusiast convention in Phoenix, Arizona, and was scheduled to appear at the Japanese Classic Car Show in California.
