NLEX Road Warriors advance to PBA ~~Governors’ Cup campaign~~ semifinals

The NLEX Road Warriors maintained a strong position in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup, holding the top spot in Group A with an 8-2 record following a 147-115 victory over the Titan Ultra Giant Risers. During the group stage, player Robert Bolick emphasized the necessity of a “playoff mode” mentality to ensure deep postseason runs. Transitioning into the quarterfinals, NLEX extended their momentum by defeating the Phoenix Fuel Masters 124-117 in Game 2 of their best-of-five series. Led by 31-point performances from Bolick and Schonny Winston, the win gave NLEX a 2-0 series lead as they pursued a semifinals appearance. NLEX completed a 3-0 sweep of the quarterfinal series with a 137-89 victory over Phoenix Super LPG at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila. Robert Bolick led the scoring with 23 points, while Deonte Burton and Schonny Winston contributed 19 points each. This victory marks the first time NLEX has reached the semifinals since the 2021-2022 Governors’ Cup. Bolick noted that the team has matured following previous playoff disappointments and credited coach Jimmy Alapag for elevating the team’s standards. NLEX is scheduled to face the winner of the series between Converge and Rain or Shine in the semifinals.
