Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike has begun progressing in his recovery from a neck injury that required surgery last season. During late August practice, Madubuike participated in sled drills, marking his first such activity of the summer. As the team finalized its 53-man roster, the Ravens opted to keep Madubuike on the active roster rather than placing him on injured reserve. This decision allows the coaching staff to continue evaluating his progress daily without committing him to an immediate multi-game absence. This roster strategy also applied to inside linebacker Teddye Buchanan, while the team utilized designated return spots for cornerback Bilhal Kone and rookie running back Adam Randall. By mid-September, head coach Jesse Minter ruled Madubuike out for the regular-season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
