In mid‑July 2026, police in Moses Lake, Washington, responded to a vehicle incident at a gas station and arrested a 36‑year‑old man after finding roughly 13 grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine in his car. He was charged with possession with intent to deliver and booked into the Grant County jail. A few weeks later, on 4 August 2026, an RCMP officer in Lake Country, British Columbia, stopped a vehicle near Highway 97 and uncovered about one kilogram of methamphetamine together with several hundred pills believed to be Xanax and Dilaudid. Three of the four occupants were arrested for drug possession, while all four were released at the roadside pending further investigation. On 4 August 2026, RCMP officers in Fort St. John, British Columbia, arrested a 28‑year‑old woman and a 33‑year‑old man from the Lower Mainland as part of a broader trafficking probe that began on 30 July. A search warrant of their hotel room produced multiple packages of pre‑packaged illicit drugs, cash and a loaded Glock handgun with an extended magazine. Police said the evidence linked the suspects to organized‑crime networks and underscored ongoing RCMP efforts to curb the flow of illicit substances into northern B.C. communities. The suspects have been released while the investigation into organized‑crime links continues.
