The Northern Borders Province Emirate initiated the ‘Enbthon’ digital innovation program to address regional administrative challenges through technological solutions. Under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the initiative invited professionals, researchers, and students to develop prototypes in tracks including government service automation, beneficiary journey improvement, and artificial intelligence. Following a registration period that saw over 100 projects registered, the initiative transitioned into a three-day digital innovation hackathon held in Arar at the Ministry of Interior Employees Club. In partnership with the Ministry of Media, the scope included specialized tracks for the early detection of misinformation, enhancing the accessibility of official media content, and creating a unified digital window for media inquiries. The hackathon has now concluded, ~~featuring~~ with Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan honoring the winners. The competition featured 35 innovative projects presented ~~to a judging panel. Participants included~~ by more than 90 ~~specialists, such as developers, programmers, data scientists, AI experts, researchers, and university students.~~ specialists. The ~~submitted solutions focused on simplifying government procedures, enhancing data connectivity,~~ first-place prize was awarded to team ‘Miqdam’ for a proactive intelligence platform designed for early monitoring and ~~utilizing~~ supporting government responses to misinformation. Second place went to team ‘Afaq’ for ‘Basira’, an AI platform to support ~~decision-making.~~ decision-making and improve regional quality of life. Third place was awarded to team ‘Hayy Aynak’ for a smart digital platform aimed at streamlining government services into a personalized user journey. Winning ~~ideas~~ teams received cash prizes ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 SAR. These successful solutions will now undergo technical and operational evaluations to determine their ~~feasibility~~ readiness for ~~real-world application.
