Nursing education program expansions

At the end of July 2026 the University of Adelaide announced a new Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing for registered nurses, delivered online with flexible part‑time study and focused on trauma‑informed, person‑centred care and recovery practice.

The following day the university introduced a two‑year Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry) that emphasizes extensive on‑campus learning and over 800 hours of clinical placement, qualifying graduates for registration with Australia’s Nursing and Midwifery Board. In the same announcement, UK universities and the National Health Service highlighted nursing programmes aimed at Indian students, detailing undergraduate and postgraduate pathways, tuition fees, visa requirements and NHS placement opportunities that lead to registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council. Together these moves illustrate a broadened push to expand nursing qualifications both within Australia and internationally, offering new specialist and generalist routes for prospective nurses.
