October horror and classic film programming

Overview

Various film institutions and theater chains have announced programming for October 2026, with a significant focus on horror and classic cinema.

Museums and independent theaters are hosting specialized series, such as the Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s ‘Art House of Horrors’ and Portland’s Second Run, which features a 16mm screening of F.W. Murnau’s ‘Faust’ with a live score.

On a larger scale, Regal Cinemas is running a nationwide ‘31 Screams on Screen’ series, offering daily classic horror films for a set price. Additionally, community events like Edmonton’s ‘Spook and Screen’ drive-in are scheduled to feature double features and themed entertainment.
