Ogun State economic and infrastructure development
Overview
Ogun State officials have highlighted the administration’s efforts to establish the region as a primary investment destination in Nigeria through purposeful governance and infrastructure development. Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, credited the state’s growth to a stable, business-friendly environment and the even distribution of development across senatorial districts.
Building on these developmental goals, the Ogun State Executive Council has approved several specific projects to support the industrial economy. These include the reconstruction of multiple road networks, such as the Siun Junction–Iperu Junction and Simawa–Lukosi/Ogijo roads, to improve connectivity.
Further expansion efforts include the construction of two new general hospitals in Itori and Aiyepe, a power-generation investment, and the establishment of the Ogun State Enterprise Development Agency to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
