Ole Miss women's soccer season opener progress

The Ole Miss women’s soccer team secured a 1-0 victory against Murray State in their season opener. The match, held at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium, marked the first win for head coach Todd Shulenberger. After a scoreless first half, Katie Ramsden scored the decisive goal in the 63rd minute, shortly after entering the game. The Rebels controlled the match statistically, recording 22 shots compared to Murray State’s four and maintaining 55 percent possession. Goalkeeper Taylor Prigge earned a shutout in her first start of the season. Ole Miss improved to a 2-0-0 record following a 2-1 road victory against Louisiana at the Home Bank Soccer & Track Complex. The Rebels established an early lead in the first half by scoring two goals within a 56-second span: Isabella Pontieri scored at the 10:09 mark, followed by Paxton Bock just 56 seconds later. Although Louisiana’s Miku Kurihara narrowed the deficit in the 54th minute, the Rebels' defense, anchored by Prigge, maintained the lead to secure the win.
