In late July, after a disappointing qualifying session at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Haas driver Oliver Bearman criticised the team's pace, tyre shortage and car balance, noting that the short straights disadvantaged the Honda‑powered chassis. Despite the setback, he expressed confidence in his own talent and cited a strong start to the season, including a fourth‑place finish in Mexico. He attributed this regression to a lack of resources compared to rivals like Red Bull and Ferrari, noting that while Haas can build a fast base car, they struggle with development speed. Bearman highlighted that while competitors introduce updates frequently, Haas often requires approximately nine races to implement changes, making feats like outpacing RB—which he achieved at the Australian Grand Prix—no longer feasible.
