Olympique Lyonnais continues its strong start in the UEFA Europa League league phase, maintaining a perfect record after two matches. Following an initial 2-1 away victory against Anderlecht, Lyon secured a 3-2 home win against Crystal Palace at Groupama Stadium. In the match against Palace, Corentin Tolisso opened the scoring in the 8th minute, and Ernest Nuamah doubled the lead just before halftime following an assist from Keito Nakamura. Although Crystal Palace attempted a comeback with goals from Yeremy Pino in the 50th minute and Daichi Kamada in the 81st minute, Pavel Sulc restored Lyon’s advantage in the 76th ~~minute.~~ minute with a “clever finish”. Lyon goalkeeper Dominik Greif provided crucial late saves to preserve the victory. Keito Nakamura was highly praised for his performance, earning Man of the Match honors for his two assists. The result marks a successful start for Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca, who has now secured two wins in two Europa League fixtures. The match also served as a return to Lyon for Palace manager Pierre Sage, who previously coached the French club. Additionally, Crystal Palace defender Takehiro Tomiyasu remains sidelined with a calf injury, with his return date still uncertain.
