OnePlus N6 Lite launched; budget market competition rises

Overview

OnePlus has officially launched the N6 Lite 4G smartphone in India, positioning it as an affordable entry-level device in its N series. Priced at ₹16,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB UFS 2.2 storage configuration, the handset offers virtual RAM expansion up to 8GB.

The device is distinguished by a 7,000mAh battery, which the company claims can provide up to three days of typical usage or nearly 50 hours of talk time. It features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Aqua Touch technology. Powered by an octa-core Unisoc T7250 processor, the phone includes a 13-megapixel primary rear sensor and a 5-megapixel front camera. It also carries an IP64 rating and meets MIL-STD-810H military-grade standards.

The N6 Lite enters an increasingly competitive Indian budget smartphone market. It faces direct competition from the iQOO Z11 Lite, priced between ₹19,999 and ₹26,499, and the Samsung Galaxy M17, which ranges from ₹18,999 to ₹24,999. While the OnePlus model utilizes OxygenOS 16 and an HD+ LCD panel, competitors are offering different specifications, such as Samsung’s Super AMOLED screen and iQOO’s OriginOS 6. This heightened competition comes as manufacturers navigate rising memory component costs.

Additionally, reports continue to suggest OnePlus is testing a new gaming-focused smartphone in India, potentially featuring RGB lighting and a built-in fan running on ColorOS 17.
