Ontario economic and trade response measures

Overview

The Ontario government has initiated several measures to address economic pressures and trade tensions. Premier Doug Ford announced a province-wide review of eight major public agencies, such as Metrolinx and the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, to assess efficiency and productivity. Ford described the tariffs as an “economic attack” and indicated the province may use retaliatory restrictions on U.S. alcohol and procurement to mitigate the impact.
