Local political activities in Ontario have included mayoral debates and candidate events. In Chatham-Kent, six of seven mayoral candidates participated in a debate hosted by YourTV Chatham-Kent, addressing issues such as municipal spending, taxation, infrastructure, housing, and healthcare. Candidates discussed the urban-rural divide, with Lauren Anderson emphasizing public consultation on service cuts and Michael Bondy proposing departmental reviews to identify budget cuts. In Brockville, mayoral candidates held a debate. The area also scheduled a meet and greet for Elizabethtown-Kitley councillor candidates as part of its community calendar. Additional community activities in the Brockville area for early October 2026 include the Light Up the Night Parade at the Brockville Yacht Club, the Brockville Butterfly Run, and ghost tours at Fulford Place. A food drive organized by the Brockville Rotary Fall Harvest Sharing Food Drive is also scheduled to collect donations for the Brockville & Area Food Bank from October 8 to October 10.
