Users of the Ooono Co-Driver have reported increasing technical difficulties, specifically regarding the accuracy of speed camera warnings. These issues include missed alerts, delayed notifications, and false warnings. A primary cause identified is the termination of the partnership between Ooono and Blitzer.de, which resulted in the removal of that service’s data from the device. While Ooono continues to utilize its own community data and the British provider Cyclops, the impact of losing Blitzer.de data on reliability is ongoing. Following recent app updates, reports have expanded to include connectivity problems between the device and smartphones, such as broken Bluetooth connections and failures to establish links during setup. Users have increasingly voiced these complaints on platforms such as Amazon, noting a decrease in warning frequency. In Germany, users are cautioned that utilizing technical devices specifically designed to warn of or interfere with traffic surveillance is prohibited under § 23 Absatz 1c StVO, which may result in fines and device confiscation.
