The Orix Buffaloes have maintained recent momentum through several notable victories. On August 5, pitcher Anderson Espinoza secured his 10th win of the season during a 3-1 victory against the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles at Kyocera Dome Osaka, becoming the first Venezuelan pitcher in NPB history to reach double-digit wins. Espinoza’s performance has established him as a co-leader in wins within the Pacific League. He also currently leads the league in ERA with a 2.25 mark, ahead of competitors Kona Takahashi and Chihiro Sumida. He is the first imported pitcher for the Buffaloes to record double-digit wins since Tom Davey in 2006. Following this, on August 10, the team secured a 9-6 walk-off win against the Rakuten Eagles at the Tokyo Dome. This match marked the Buffaloes' first hosted game at the venue in 17 years and served as the opening for the "Bs “Bs Natsu no Jin 2026" 2026” summer event series. The victory was highlighted by a ninth-inning three-run home run by Ryoto Kida, which overturned a five-run deficit.
