Outdoor cinema events are being held across various Italian locations. In early August, screenings were scheduled in Udine, featuring the film ‘My Family in Taipei’, and in Genzano, where ‘The Electric Woman’ was selected to facilitate community discussions regarding local environmental issues like deforestation. By late August, Rome expanded its outdoor film programming through the Roma Creativa 365 initiative. This includes the ‘Arena 11 – Cinema e Comunità’ series at Parco Tevere, which focuses on social and gender inequalities, and the eighth edition of ‘Il Cinema alle Mura… e non solo’, a multi-location festival featuring 21 evenings of animation, classics, and musicals. In early September, Rome continued its free outdoor screenings. At Villa Borghese, the Casa del Cinema scheduled Buster Keaton’s 1926 silent comedy ‘The General’ to celebrate the filmmaker’s centenary. The ‘Arena 11 – Cinema e Comunità’ series at Parco Tevere Marconi planned a screening of Cristian Mungiu’s ‘R. M. N. – Animali selvatici’, a drama regarding ethnic tensions and social inequality. Additionally, Parco Andrea Campagna hosted a documentary centered on the struggle of Iranian women.
