The documentary film ‘Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning’ is scheduled for a worldwide limited theatrical release starting October 28. Produced by Mercury Studios and distributed by Trafalgar Releasing, the film documents the historic farewell performance held on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham, England. The event marked a significant reunion as the original Black Sabbath lineup—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—performed together for the first time in over 20 years. The performance took place just 17 days before the passing of Ozzy Osbourne at age 76. 76 on July 22, 2025. Directed by Ben Wainwright-Pearce, the film features the full stadium production utilizing Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound for an immersive experience. In addition to the main sets, the film features a sets and Osbourne’s solo performance by Osbourne performance, the production includes behind-the-scenes footage, personal reflections from musicians, and tributes from various rock and metal artists, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Slayer.
