Pakistan is engaging in high-level discussions to secure various forms of investment and strengthen economic frameworks. In mid-September, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue met with a delegation from the International Foodstuffs Company (IFFCO). The meeting focused on the UAE-headquartered group’s ongoing investments in Pakistan’s food sector, including edible oils and agriculture. IFFCO has invested approximately US$100 million in the country since 2006 and expressed intentions to continue expanding its business. By late September, discussions shifted toward broader developmental cooperation. The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs met with representatives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank to discuss the Country Partnership Framework for 2026–2035. This framework aims to mobilize up to $2 billion annually, targeting small and medium-sized enterprises, housing finance, and public-private partnership (PPP) projects. The government also indicated plans to strengthen the PPP Authority through new legislation and administrative restructuring. As of late September, the IFC’s plan to mobilize up to $2 billion annually through 2035 remains a key component of the World Bank Group’s Country Partnership Framework, intended to support housing finance, public-private partnerships, and small to medium-sized enterprises.
