By late September 2026, Pakistan’s gold and silver markets experienced a period of downward pressure following earlier volatility. On September 20, 24-karat gold saw a minor decline of Rs 100 per tola to settle at Rs 460,236, while the 10-gram rate fell to Rs 394,578. Silver prices also dipped by Rs 69 per tola to Rs 7,100. By September 24, the downward trend intensified as international bullion markets faced pressure. According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, 24-karat gold prices dropped significantly, with rates ranging between Rs 448,336 and Rs 453,936 per tola. This local decline mirrored international movements, where gold prices fell toward the $4,258 to $4,314 per ounce range. On September 28, the decline accelerated sharply. The price of gold per tola dropped by Rs 12,800 to settle at Rs 438,136, while the 10-gram rate decreased by Rs 10,973 to Rs 375,631. Silver prices also faced pressure, with the price per tola falling by Rs 325 to close at Rs 6,578. On October 3, gold prices continued to fluctuate. The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reported a further decline of Rs 4,300 per tola, bringing the 24-karat rate to Rs 436,336. This was attributed to international gold prices dropping by $43 per ounce to $4,138. Other market benchmarks showed 24-karat gold reaching Rs 440,636 per tola, while silver prices showed some fluctuation, with some reports noting a slight increase to Rs 6,578 per tola. By October 5, the downward trend in Pakistan continued, with 24K gold per tola decreasing by Rs 1,636 to Rs 437,000. Reductions were also noted in 22K and 21K gold purities, while silver remained steady at Rs 6,528 per tola. During this period, the US Dollar held firm in the Pakistani open market at Rs 277.80.
