Official INE data released in June confirmed that the Community of Madrid recorded its highest ever number of hotel guests for the month. The surge was driven by the same two world‑scale events highlighted earlier: Bad Bunny’s European “Debí tirar más fotos” tour, which staged ten concerts at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium between 30 May and 15 June and attracted more than 640,000 attendees, and Pope Leo XIV’s visit, which drew over 1.2 million people to public masses and the Corpus Christi procession. Economic estimates continue to place the combined impact at roughly €300 million – about €212 million from the concerts and €74 million from the papal events – not counting indirect benefits to retail, hospitality and transport. The INE report added that 884,881 international visitors came to Madrid in June, a 13.9 % increase year‑on‑year, generating €1.86 billion in tourist spending (about €288 per visitor per day). Hotel occupancy approached full capacity, confirming the record level of guests for a June month. The record adds to Spain’s broader first‑half‑year tourism highs in both visitor numbers and total spend.
