Paraguay beef export expansion to Chile

Overview

Paraguay has expanded its beef export capacity to Chile following the authorization of Frigorífico Los Lazos SA. The Chilean Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) approved the facility to export chilled and frozen boneless beef, as well as frozen cooked bovine stomachs, after technical exchanges and audits involving Paraguay’s National Service for Quality and Animal Health (Senacsa).

This development brings the total number of authorized Paraguayan meat processing plants in Chile to 12. Officials noted that Paraguay accounted for 34.4% of beef imports in Chile between January and June 2026. Senacsa president José Carlos Martin indicated that growing consumer confidence in Paraguayan meat quality offers opportunities to diversify exports into other proteins, such as pork.
