Paramount+ has expanded its October 2026 programming schedule and event details. For New York Comic Con (October 8–10), the platform will host a 20th-anniversary celebration for the ‘Dexter’ franchise, including a panel with Michael C. Hall and Uma Thurman, as well as an immersive ‘Dexter’ 20th Anniversary Museum Experience running from October 9 to 11. The convention will also feature the global premiere of the animated series ‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ on October 9, alongside a Paramount Games tournament for ‘Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game’. On October 10, the service will present an exclusive preview of ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ Season 2 with cast members Holly Hunter and Robert Picardo. In terms of streaming releases for October, ‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ is set to debut on October 9. Other scheduled content includes the film ‘Sovereign’ on October 2, the 29th season of ‘South Park’, the film ‘MobLand’ on October 23, the fourth season of ‘Tulsa King’ starring Sylvester Stallone on October 16, and the second season of ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ on October 30. Recent updates indicate the platform has secured U.S. and select international rights to three A24 original series: the comedy ‘It Gets Worse’, the drama ‘Major Players’, and the fantasy adaptation ‘The Ministry of Time’. The October lineup will also feature a horror selection including ‘Dr. Sleep’, ‘Drag Me to Hell’, and various ‘Scream’ and ‘Friday the 13th’ films, as well as the legal drama ‘Cupertino’. Additionally, reports have emerged regarding a long-term plan for Paramount+ to merge with HBO Max, a move that is pending regulatory approval of the Warner Bros. acquisition. This potential merger has reportedly met with resistance from creative professionals concerned about industry shifts. ~~To adapt to market changes, Paramount+ is also planning to introduce new formats, such as microdramas and an ad-supported free tier, with full implementation expected by late 2026 or early 2027.~~
