The 14th Paraná Lee Book Fair is taking place in Argentina Fair, held from August 14 to August 17. 17 at Sala Mayo in Puerto Nuevo, Argentina, concluded with significant economic and cultural impact. The event is was organized around the themes of ‘Umbrales’ (Thresholds), ‘Eternidad’ (Eternity), and ‘Pasión’ (Passion), and includes featuring author presentations, talks, and editorial offerings. The SADE Entre Ríos branch is participating participated via the XXXIV Literary Encounter, which features included the presentation of the collective anthology ‘Entre Ríos, de tinta’ and a book commemorating the city’s 200th anniversary. The literary event is accompanied festivities were complemented by the ‘Feria del Libertador’, a market featuring with 180 stalls for local artisans, entrepreneurs, and gastronomes. Following the event, data from the Municipality of Paraná’s Subsecretariat of Production and the Subsecretariat of Tourism indicated that approximately 137 million pesos in book sales were generated, with an estimated 6,289 books sold. The fair recorded 14,226 visits, representing roughly 12,647 unique individuals. Attendance peaked during the weekend, which accounted for 63% of total visitors, and nearly one in five attendees traveled from outside the city of Paraná. The event served as both a cultural initiative and a mechanism to strengthen the economic activity of the publishing and bookstore sectors.
