In late September 2026, the CGT Union announced a Pride March in Paris for October 3 to protest LGBTQI+ discrimination. The union highlighted disparities in parental rights and workplace benefits, noting that 32% of recorded discrimination cases involve harassment. On October 3, tens of thousands of participants marched from Place d'Italie to Place de la Bastille. While the CGT had initially announced the event, the march was organized by Inter-LGBT. The demonstration focused on defending LGBT+ rights against the rise of far-right politics, specifically protesting the Rassemblement National (RN). Organizers called for mobilization against hate speech directed at trans individuals, sex workers, and same-sex couples. The event had been previously postponed from June due to a heatwave. As France approaches its upcoming presidential election, the march carried a strong political message. Alexandre Schon, co-president of Inter-LGBT, called on allies to mobilize for a future based on solidarity, warning that LGBTQ+ rights are under attack globally. Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire joined the march, noting that LGBTQ+ venues and spaces continue to face threats, discrimination, and violence. Various left-wing political figures, including Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Sandrine Rousseau, also participated to advocate for the protection of civil rights.
