Pasco County deputy child abuse arrest

Donald Valverde, a 37-year-old corporal with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, was arrested and fired following allegations of child sexual abuse. Valverde faces multiple charges, including two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation—one of which is a life felony—and one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Sheriff Nocco described the details of the case as “absolutely horrendous” and stated that Valverde had “embarrassed the profession.”

Valverde had been employed with the department since 2015. Previous investigations into Valverde regarding domestic abuse allegations had been conducted by the department, though no grounds for dismissal were found at that time.
