In mid‑July 2026, communities in Mexico and Spain marked the feast of Santa María Magdalena with processions and a coloured sawdust carpet in Xico, Veracruz, while Spanish towns such as Ferrol and Villaquilambre staged masses, street parades and cultural activities. A week later the focus expanded to other patronal celebrations: Ecuador’s San Camilo parish in Quevedo concluded its San Cristóbal festivities with novenas, masses and a solemn Eucharist presided by Monsignor Skyper Yánez, and Spanish municipalities from Calp to Aspe opened summer festivals honoring the Virgen de las Nieves and the Virgen de la Asunción, featuring traditional entrà ceremonies, fireworks, concerts and Moros y Cristianos performances. By the end of July, additional events linked the religious calendar across the region. In Quevedo the San Cristóbal schedule ran through 2 August, with a seventh‑day novena on 30 July, daily Masses, vehicle blessings and a closing procession through the parish streets, culminating in the final solemn Eucharist on 2 August. Spanish towns such as Calp (31 July‑15 August), Tábara (4‑16 August), Aspe (through 23 August) and Mos (1 August and 5‑8 August) hosted masses, poetry contests, concerts and cultural activities. The 65th Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas in La Unión (29 July‑8 August) added a musical dimension, and the inaugural Festival Lírico de Córdoba (starting 18 September) added highlighted classical repertoire. Later in July and early August, a musical dimension. In Saltillo, Mexico, the Castillo family celebrated 115 years of custodianship wave of summer festivals further broadened the Santo Cristo image, underscoring programme. Spain saw the enduring intertwining of faith, tradition XXXIV Festival de Arte Flamenco in Fondón (Almería) with José Mercé and tourism throughout Spain guitarist Tomatito, and Latin America. Guadalcázar celebrated its 40th free‑entry flamenco festival. The Cante de las Minas featured performances by Arcángel and Israel Fernández. Cádiz hosted its XXXI International Folklore Festival with groups from Mexico, Panama, South Africa, Georgia and Rapa Nui.
