In late July 2026, Luis Ángel Echevarría Muñiz, the 76‑year‑old father of Spanish actress Paula Echevarría, died in Gijón, Asturias. A public viewing was arranged at a funeral home in Candás, and his funeral took place on 31 July at the San Félix parish church, after which he was cremated in Avilés.
