In September 2026, a 76-year-old man was seriously injured in Finnentrop-Müllen after losing control of his pedelec while riding with a group on a paved path. The rider skidded on a steep S-curve and fell down an embankment. In October 2026, a separate serious accident occurred on the K 122 between Malberg and Steinebach. A 49-year-old woman sustained life-threatening head injuries after falling from her pedelec while traveling with her husband. A rescue helicopter was used to transport her to a specialist clinic. The cause of the fall remains under investigation.
