Romanian footballers Ionuț Radu and Radu Drăgușin have faced challenging periods in European football. In Spain, goalkeeper Ionuț Radu received low ratings following Celta Vigo’s 1-2 loss to Osasuna, where he conceded two goals. To increase competition for the starting position, Celta Vigo has brought in Altay Bayindir. In Italy, defender Radu Drăgușin, currently on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, has seen fluctuating form. Following early season criticism and concerns from Ciprian Marica regarding his speed after injury, Drăgușin has contributed two assists in his limited appearances for Fiorentina. While the club has struggled in Serie A, sitting in 16th place with one win and three losses, Drăgușin remains a key figure. He was singled out for a lack of marking during Genoa’s opening goal, with Viola News describing his defensive positioning as ‘completely disoriented’ and ‘inexplicable’. While Sofascore provided a rating of 6.3, the match was a significant setback for the club. Fiorentina’s struggles have continued, with the team dropping to 18th place in the Serie A standings after six matches, placing them in the relegation zone. Drăgușin’s season-long loan from Tottenham includes a €17.5 million obligation to buy once he reaches 22 appearances. Former international Răzvan Raț has previously highlighted the player’s high market standing, noting that Drăgușin had been a target for Bayern Munich prior to his move to London.
