Persita Tangerang entered the 2026/2027 Super League season with the goal of finishing within the top eight. During the team launch, Club President Ahmed Zaki Iskandar and head coach Carlos Pena emphasized steady progress and ambition, supported by a roster bolstered with six new players and a total of ten foreign players. In their third week of competition, the club played to a 2-2 draw against PSM Makassar at Gelora BJ Habibie Stadium. Despite goals from Aleksa Andrejic and Tyronne del Pino, the team was unable to secure a victory. PSM Makassar responded with goals from Ananda Raehan and Stefan Jevtoski to split the points. Coach Carlos Pena expressed dissatisfaction with the result, citing a loss of concentration in the closing stages of the match.
