The Pallotta tunnel on the Perugia-Bettolle motorway in Umbria is scheduled to reopen to four-lane traffic during daytime hours starting Saturday, August 29. This reopening occurs two days earlier than originally planned. Following the daytime reopening, construction activities will transition to a nighttime-only schedule beginning Monday, August 31. During the hours of 21:00 to 06:00, traffic heading toward Bettolle will be diverted to secondary roads via the Piscille junction and re-enter at the Prepo junction. The ongoing project focuses on structural repairs and the modernization of safety and technological systems within the Pallotta and Madonna Alta tunnels. To mitigate summer traffic disruptions, crews have been operating 24/7 with 60 to 100 personnel. A similar daytime reopening for the Madonna Alta tunnel was previously completed on August 14. Additionally, new maintenance works managed by Anas are scheduled to begin on the E45 near the Collestrada curve on August 31. This work involves resurfacing nearly three kilometers with draining asphalt. To maintain daytime traffic flow, these interventions will also be restricted to the nighttime window of 21:00 to 06:00.
