The Professional Fighters League (PFL) held its event at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago on October 16, headlined by the inaugural women’s flyweight world championship fight. Jena Bishop won the title by defeating Liz Carmouche via unanimous decision. Despite an early onslaught from Carmouche, Bishop secured the victory after five rounds, with all three judges scoring the bout 48-47 in her favor. Bishop utilized clinches and knees to secure the win. This win victory marks a reversal for Bishop, who previously lost to Carmouche during the 2025 tournament. Prior to the bout, Carmouche had drawn attention for shaving her head to meet the 56.7 kg flyweight limit. Following the championship result, undefeated fighter Dakota Ditcheva stated that a highly anticipated matchup between her and Carmouche is no longer a priority, noting that she does not feel her career depends on it following Carmouche’s loss. Ditcheva is currently preparing for a title rematch against Bishop, with a potential return to competition targeted for early 2027 as she recovers from hand injuries. Other results from the Chicago card included Timur Khizriev defeating Gabriel Braga via split decision, Oualy Tandia winning against J. P. Saint Louis via unanimous decision, and Paulina Wiśniewska securing a unanimous decision victory over Chelsea Hackett. Hackett, and Sarvarjon Khamidov securing a first-round stoppage against Rafael do Nascimento.
