Law enforcement agencies, including the Philadelphia police and the FBI, are conducting an extensive forensic investigation at a residence on Chew Avenue in the Olney neighborhood. The search is linked to at least seven missing or unidentified women and follows the arrest of Eugene Horsch on weapons and drug charges, during which investigators say he and an accomplice provided a fake government ID bearing the name of a missing woman. Initial searches involved using luminol to detect traces of blood and dismantling walls and floors. While cremated remains were discovered at the property, no bodies were initially found. Investigators also identified one million pieces of digital material potentially related to the missing women. Subsequent forensic findings determined that bones discovered during the excavation were animal bones. However, the presence of adipocere, a wax-like substance formed during decomposition, was identified at the site. While luminol produced a positive chemical reaction indicating traces of blood, experts noted that further testing is required to reach a definitive conclusion regarding human remains. The property was previously owned by the late filmmaker Raymond ‘R. C.’ Horsch, and Eugene Horsch, who inherited the property, has not been charged. His attorney has denied any involvement in the case.
