The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police have conducted a series of anti-drug operations across several regions, resulting in numerous arrests and the seizure of illegal substances. In early October 2026, operations included the discovery of an 18,000-plant marijuana plantation in Kalinga, facilitated by the PDEA ‘Operation: Private Eye’ informant program. This program has distributed over ₱9.1 million to 28 informants nationwide, including a ₱360,000 reward for the information leading to the Tinglayan plantation discovery and three arrests. In Lanao del Sur, authorities arrested two high-value suspects in Saguiaran during a buy-bust operation involving approximately 587 grams of suspected shabu, valued at ₱3.9 million. In Sultan Kudarat, a 45-year-old man was apprehended in Isulan during a checkpoint after allegedly attempting to evade inspection; authorities recovered 51.78 grams of suspected shabu, a pistol, and ammunition. In mid-October, operations continued expanded to include the dismantling of a suspected drug den in Kalinga, Kidapawan City, Cotabato, where four individuals were arrested, and a buy-bust in Compostela, Davao Region, resulting in the seizure of approximately 517 grams of suspected shabu valued at roughly ₱3.5 million. In Kalinga, two tricycle drivers were arrested on October 12 at the Dagupan Public Market in Tabuk City for allegedly selling suspected shabu. In Iligan City, a joint operation in Barangay Tomas Cabili resulted in the seizure of approximately 540.8 grams of suspected shabu, valued at roughly ₱3.67 million. During that encounter, a suspect identified as ‘Beltran’ sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh while allegedly attempting to flee and discarding a .38-caliber revolver. Further enforcement actions in mid-October included a shootout in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, where PDEA seized approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱3.4 million after suspects escaped via speedboat. In Butuan City, authorities arrested two men and seized 21.4 grams of suspected shabu. In General Santos City, a pursuit operation in Barangay Sinawal led to the arrest of two men and the confiscation of ₱117,776 worth of suspected shabu and a .45-caliber pistol.
