Pixar has announced the third installment of the Incredibles franchise, scheduled for theatrical release on June 16, 2028. During a Disney D23 event, the studio revealed that Peter Sohn will direct the film, while original creator Brad Bird will serve as writer and executive producer. The plot is set in the aftermath of superheroes regaining legal status and will focus on the Parr children—Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack—as they perform heroic acts and manage their powers. New details from the D23 Disney Entertainment Showcase indicate the children will take on more prominent roles, sneaking out at night to protect the city while attempting to keep their activities secret from their parents. The film is expected to feature a supervillain more powerful than the entire family combined and will see the return of the original voice cast, including Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Vowell, and Huck Milner. Additionally, it has been noted that Winston Deavor will return in an attempt to create a superhero league. Addressing fan speculation regarding the passage of time, Brad Bird clarified that the Parr family will not be aged for the sequel. Bird stated that each character represents a distinct stage of life and argued that a time jump would “undermine these archetypal roles that define the series.” The film is expected to conclude the franchise trilogy.
