Sony is transitioning the PlayStation Store in several Latin American markets from U.S. dollar pricing to local currencies. In Chile and Colombia, the change involves scheduled maintenance to take the store offline between October 5 and October 8, 2026. In Colombia, the transition to Colombian pesos is expected scheduled to take effect on October 9, 2026. To facilitate this, the digital store will undergo a temporary suspension of commercial operations from October 5 to October 8, 2026. This process includes the permanent closure of the PlayStation 3 digital store in the country. New purchases will be priced according to the Representative Market Rate (TRM) at the time of transaction. For users with existing PlayStation Network wallet balances or gift card credits, Sony will apply a fixed conversion rate of 4,000 Colombian pesos per U.S. dollar. While Chile was originally expected to undergo similar maintenance between October 5 and October 8, 2026, Sony has announced a postponement for the Chilean peso transition. The update, intended to allow users to view prices and complete transactions in local currency, is now expected to take place in early 2027. Consequently, the PlayStation Store in Chile will continue to operate normally during the previously scheduled maintenance window. Sony stated it will provide further details at least 30 days before any future temporary store closures required for the Chilean transition.
