Plot developments in Mùa hè năm ấy

The television series ‘Mùa hè năm ấy’ follows the escalating personal and professional struggles of the character Khánh.

Initially, Khánh faces a crisis when his past criminal record is exposed online, revealing that he previously worked at a security company using another person’s identity. This revelation causes concern for his family, who fear it will negatively impact Phương, a Deputy Director at the hotel where Khánh is employed. While Khánh attempts to resign from the security firm to mitigate complications, his colleagues refuse to accept his departure.

As the narrative progresses, Khánh’s interpersonal tensions intensify. He engages in a physical confrontation with Tùng after being insulted, an incident witnessed by Phương. Simultaneously, Khánh faces pressure from his mother, bà Liên, to abandon his job at a bar and return to his family’s woodworking workshop. Following a confrontation with Tùng at a bar, Khánh’s parents are hospitalized after an incident at the workshop involving missing raw wood and an overdose of sleeping pills administered to bà Liên. Khánh identifies his uncle, ông Huân, as responsible, though his father, ông Vệ, is reluctant to pursue legal action.

To manage debts, Khánh takes over the family workshop despite social stigma. Recent developments show escalating workplace and romantic tensions. At the hotel, Phương’s decision to fire Chau for regulation violations sparks conflict with Tùng and Yen, with Tùng eventually taking responsibility for the management error. Meanwhile, romantic dynamics shift as Phương begins to distance herself from Tùng following a dinner date with Khánh. Although Khánh expresses jealousy regarding Tùng’s attention toward Phương, she maintains their interactions are strictly platonic.
