Pokémon competitive events in Latin America

Overview

PlayPokémon has announced several competitive events and digital initiatives for the Latin American Pokémon community in late 2026.

In mid-October, the organization announced a Twitch Drops campaign for the Latin America International Championships (LAIC) scheduled for November 20–22, 2026. The campaign offers in-game rewards across various platforms, including a special Sylveon in Pokémon Champions, Raikou ex cards and booster packs for Pokémon TCG Live players, and research tasks for Pokémon GO players.

Following this, details were released for the Pokémon Regional Championships taking place in Puebla, Mexico, on October 24 and 25, 2026. This event is noted as the first Regional Championship in the region to feature a live broadcast produced specifically in Latin American Spanish. The tournament will cover video games, the Trading Card Game, and Pokémon GO, with free broadcasts available on Twitch and YouTube.
