Poland continues extensive transport and urban infrastructure upgrades through early September 2026. Major road and rail works remain ongoing in Warsaw, Poznań, and Łódź. Recent developments include a technical analysis for the DK75 national road near Łososina Dolna and the return of two-way traffic under the Mikołowska street viaduct in Katowice. In Krosno, new road investments have been completed to improve S19 connections, while Bełchatów prepares for passenger rail services following an 800 million PLN modernization. In the S19 expressway expansion, GDDKiA has launched a ‘design and build’ tender for a 12.5 km section between Domaradz and Krosno. This follows the May termination of a contract with Mostostal Warszawa, which was removed for proposing design changes inconsistent with environmental decisions and failing to resume work. The new project, expected to take 29 months excluding winter, will include engineering structures, traveler service areas in Zagórze, and pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure. In Łódź, modernization projects are progressing in the Bałuty district. On Pojezierska Street, work is ~~underway to replace~~ currently being conducted on the first section between al.
