The 15th edition of the ‘Narodowe Czytanie’ (National Reading) campaign took place across Poland, promoting Polish literature through the reading of Adam Mickiewicz’s romantic drama, ‘Dziady’. Events were held in various locations, including Sosnówka, Świdnik, Międzyzdroje, Pyskowice, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Gołcza, Słubice, Łęka Opatowska, and Sokołów Podlaski. These community gatherings involved students, teachers, and local officials, often featuring musical accompaniment and theatrical interpretations to foster local identity. A central event was held in Warsaw at Krakowskie Przedmieście, attended by President Karol Nawrocki and his spouse, Marta Nawrocka. Other regional activities included student performances in Nakło nad Notecią, community readings in the town square of Żabno, and a meeting organized by the Municipal Public Library in Szepietowo, which received an official commemorative seal from the Chancellery of the President. School participation remained a significant component of the initiative. In Krosno, students from the Nicolaus Copernicus High School held readings at the Public Library and performed a musical-verbal montage in their school gymnasium after inclement weather prevented an outdoor session. In Świdnica, students at the Second High School utilized music, acting, and scenography to present an atmospheric staging of the second part of ‘Dziady’ for their peers. Recent community activities included an event in Kowala-Stępocina at the Izba Pamięci Księdza Romana Kotlarza, which featured readings by guests and students, a performance of ‘Wielka Improwizacja’ by the local Wójt, and a tribute to Father Roman Kotlarz. In Mysłowice, the Municipal Public Library Branch 11 hosted participants from the local Community Self-Help Home for a session involving an introduction to Slavic traditions, a film projection from the ‘Kalendarz Słowiańskich Baśni’ series, and a collective reading. Educational institutions have continued to host literary celebrations.
