Ongoing infrastructure modernization projects across Poland continue to cause disruptions to public transportation while new developments emerge in high-speed rail and coastal amenities. In the railway sector, major operators including SKM, Koleje Mazowieckie, Koleje Małopolskie, and Koleje Wielkopolskie are implementing widespread schedule adjustments. In the Warsaw region, tunnel construction in Wesoła and renovations at Warszawa Powiśle are reducing train frequency. On the S1 and S2 lines, trains face reduced frequency, while nighttime closures of the suburban diameter line necessitate detours through Warszawa Centralna and Warszawa Gdańska for lines such as R1 and R3. Modernization on the Kraków–Kozłów, Wągrowiec–Gołańcz, and Poznań–Piła lines is also necessitating replacement bus services, with these changes expected to persist through mid-December 2026. Long-term developments include the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) plan to build approximately 780 km of new lines in the Mazovia region, including a Y-line to connect Warsaw with Poznań and Wrocław by 2035. A 67-kilometer section of the Sieradz-Kępno High-Speed Rail has also received an environmental decision to reduce travel times between Warsaw and Wrocław. Additionally, PKP S.A. is constructing an 8.15 million PLN railway station in Łapy, expected to be completed by late 2027. In the Silesian agglomeration, major tramway service changes affecting Katowice, Chorzów, Bytom, Siemianowice Śląskie, Ruda Śląska, and Sosnowiec are set for November 4, 2026, due to track renovations in Katowice. Road works include the completion of the DK94 renovation in Piekary Śląskie and the modernization of provincial road DW634 near Warsaw. In Świnoujście, construction continues on a 911-meter seaside walking path scheduled for completion between 2026 and 2027. Recent regional developments include the modernization of a 2.34 km section of provincial road 454 in the Opole region, featuring a new roundabout and pedestrian-cyclist paths.
